PRINCETON, N.J. (MedPage Today) — Warming skin balms that are used by millions of people for muscle and joint pain are ineffective in the treatment of acute pain and less effective than topical nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) for chronic pain, researchers found.
