Increasing attention is being devoted to the use of combination therapy with angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors and angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) in order to achieve maximal blockade of the renin–angiotensin system (RAS) in patients at high risk of cardiovascular events.
